The top 15 teams from around the state will meet Monday April 18, 2011 at Springbrook State Park in Guthrie Center. The competition will be held out of doors - rain or shine. In addition to the testing of general information, questions will also focus on asking students to demonstrate their skill in areas such as soil judging and use of soil surveys; knowledge of wildlife species and their habitat; determining parameters of water quality and knowledge of aquatic plant and animal species; forest species identification and equipment used in measurement of trees and forests. The students will also give an oral presentation as part of the state competition. Students will be sent the oral presentation question approximately one month prior to the state event. Team work will be stressed at all sites.
2012 State Competition
The 2012 State Envirothon Competition will be held Monday, April 16, 2012 at
Springbrook State Park near Guthrie Center. The competition will be held
outdoors - rain or shine! This year's topic is "Nonpoint Source Pollution
and Low-Impact Development," - it is never too early to start planning
